We are DEFIANT...
We march to the beat of our own drum, and use unique strategies to get our clients the biggest bang for their buck. At the PeaPod Group we do not believe in doing things simply because that's the way everyone else does them, or that it is the way that things are "supposed" to be.
Relationship building is our forte, and we have made it our mission to build and foster relationships in many different industries to make sure that our reach is not only wide, but unique in approach. We believe that in strong brands, powerful film, and creative events deny the status quo and stand out from the crowd. We are PeaPod, and we are strategically DEFIANT.
Founder & CEO
Creative and Content Services
In 2001, when most companies were downsizing after September 11th, Marla (aka @chicgeekgirl) left the film and television industry to pursue her dream – PeaPod Group, a full service Event Production and Brand Management Company. Her knowledge of Special Events, Cinematography and Brand Management have helped create one of the top production companies in the DFW Metroplex.
Marla has won multiple awards in the Special Event Industry including both the Gamma and Executive Excellence award from TxACOM, multiple Texas Star Awards from The Texas Event Industry Professionals and several prestigious ESPRIT Awards from The International Special Events Society. In 2012 she was honored with the Pinnacle and Presidential Award for outstanding contributions to the Dallas industry from ISES Dallas Chapter Two. She also helped the Dallas chapter receive the prestigious Spirit of Excellence Award for both Chapter Communications and Chapter of the Year for the ISES Dallas Chapter.
Marla is a regular contributor to Plan Your Meetings Magazine, Special Event Magazine and many other industry trade publications. She is Past President of the ISES Dallas Chapter and TxACOM, and serves on the Advisory Board for Texas Meetings & Events Magazine, The BMF Project.
Jason is an award-winning writer and producer with over 17 years experience in film and television development with some of Hollywood’s top production companies as well as advertising agencies.
While at Southern Methodist University in Texas, Jason answered an open call from Neufeld/Rehme Productions (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The General’s Daughter) for politically themed screenplays with one of his own. Jason’s script opened the door for him to become Robert Rehme’s script reader in his new production company where Jason eventually became the Director of Development while also assisting with Robert Rehme’s duties at AMPAS.
Jason then joined Jerry Bruckheimer Films working on films such as Blackhawk Down. From there Jason cut his teeth in television at Carsey-Werner-Mandabach working on a variety of shows with the team, including That 70's Show. He has created and sold television projects to companies such as New Line Television and most recently worked with former members of the State Department creating a television project sold to Mark Burnett Productions.
Jason is also one of the very few who have won and placed more than once in the Scriptapalooza television writing contest, considered one of the most well-known in the industry. He has also worked with several photographers in the Texas area producing photo shoots with them for brand name clients. Much of his concentration now is in the digital creative realm with developing YouTube brand channels, branded content and campaigns.
In his downtime you might find him supporting his motocross friends in X-Games, pretending he is still twenty-years-old on his own motorcycle, collecting military firearms, tracking down 12-back Star Wars figures or just bullseyeing Womp Rats in his T-16 back home.
